1 Person Tents for the Solo Hiker: Enjoy Some Alone Time
If you have a love of nature that your friends don’t share or you simply need to get away for a short while and enjoy some alone time, 1 person tents are a great option, especially if you buy a self-erecting tent. You may be wondering why you would want to go hiking alone. However, one of the reasons we are so stressed nowadays is because we spend almost no time alone. Even if no one else is at home, you are still connected in some way via cell phones, email, chat and many more.
The constant requests and nagging end up taking their toll on you and increase your stress levels exponentially. The biggest problem is that you don’t realize their effect on you until you get away from them. So, at least for a weekend you should consider taking off to recharge your batteries. After all, 1 person tents are a dime a dozen, if that’s the excuse you have been using not to go off on your own for a while.
The reason you should consider 1 person tents over larger, bulkier tents, is that you will find it much easier to carry a lightweight tent. Additionally, 1 person tents are quite a bit cheaper as is to be expected.
However, when buying 1 person tents you need to consider a few things. First of all, you need to determine the weather in the area where you will be hiking. If it’s known to be unpredictable then you will probably want to buy a sturdier, all-seasons tent. On the other hand, if it’s always mild weather with little chance of precipitation then you don’t need to pay extra for all-season 1 person tents. It really depends on the time of year you will be hiking as well as the natural climate of the area.
